The total turnover achieved by the Carthage Cement company during the first nine months of the year grew 7% compared to the same period of the previous year, rising from 171 million dinars to 183 million.
The production of the cement plant increased by 11% for Clinker and 22% for Cement, at the end of the third quarter of 2019 compared to 2018. The turnover on the local market grew significantly 42%.
This growth strengthens the market share of the company which continues to position itself as the leader of the sector with a market share equal to 23% at the end of September 2019 against 17% for the same period of the previous year.
It should be recalled that from July, the company took over the export of cements to Libya.
The Aggregates business recorded a slight decrease in production of -3% at the end of last September compared to the same period of the previous year and a 15% decline in sales due to the delay recorded in several public construction sites.
In the Ready Mix business, ready-mix concrete activity achieved 20% growth in sales in the third quarter, thus reducing the total difference to just -5% for the nine month 2019, compared to 2018.
