The Carthage Cement company has announced a turnover of 237.2 million dinars in 2018, against 173 million a year earlier, an increase of 37%.
Clinker production in 2011 grew by 13% compared to 2017. Local market turnover in the fourth quarter went up by 62% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Thus, the annual turnover has reached about 150 million dinars, i.e. a growth of 20% compared to 2017.
In 2018, the company confirms its leading position in the market with a 19.4% market share in a sector marked by a difficult context and fierce competition.
Revenues from clinker exports reached 47 million dinars at the end of 2018, representing 20% of Carthage Cement’s overall sales, more than offsetting the loss of cement exports, after the restrictions imposed by Algeria on the import of cements.
In addition, the overall indebtedness of the cement producer amounted to 515 million dinars at the end of December 2018, i.e. a decline of 3% compared to the end of 2017.
